Whenever I see a BMW or a Mercedes (or even a Saab or Volvo for that matter) on the road, I feel so lowly.  How can I, the driver of a worthless little Japanese import, be on the same road with a German (or otherwise European) powerhouse?

I think that even if I get rich, I'll still be driving a cheap car.  Maybe I'll get a moon roof and leather interior, but it'll still be cheap.  As soon as an expensive car can get me to my destination faster or get me there without having me drive, I'll buy it.  Or as soon as it can fly or teleport me to where I want to go, I'll buy it.  But if it's just a more expensive piece of plastic/metal/fiberglass with wheels, count me out.

When I get a new car (which will probably be in 2015 or so, depending on how long my current car lasts), I want to get some sort of hybrid.  I'm hoping I can get a hybrid pickup or minivan.  Pickups are good for carting things around, but they traditionally get terrible gas mileage.  Minivans are also good for carting things around, but they're "uncool".  I drove a minivan when I was in high school, and let me set the record straight:  I made it cool.  It wasn't cool up to that point.  But after I did it, it was cool.  And I keep seeing car commercials for minivans with seats that fold into the base of the vehicle.  That's so cool.  Man, I want to be a stay-at-home/minivan-driving dad.  Ya know ... as soon as we have kids.  Which won't be soon.  Stop asking me. #travel
