BlogKits (4) Thursday, Dec 7, 2006 3:05 pm

BlogKits is the new kid on the block in the online advertising game.  They claim to be better than AdSense for blogs with little to no traffic.  Their script displays a simple little link to a reputable site, such as Starbucks, Buy.com, or Zappos.  Somehow, this should earn me money.  As in the past, we'll see how this goes.  BlogKits has gotten some press from some relatively reputable bloggers, such as John Chow.  I won't be convinced until I see some results.

Well then, I'm going to have to make it my personal goal to make it work for you. When you get your ads in place, both text and banner, email me and let me know where to look.

We'll make this work!!! :0

All the rah-rah stuff makes it sounds like a scam.  Notice their page doesn't tell you anything about results or payment.  The kind of companies that are advertising through it are too big to give generous payouts through a new, small, program like blogkits.  It has to be crap.

Yeah I'm not yet convinced it'll make me any money, but it's worth a try.  So far, it seems like users actually have to buy something when they click on the links.  I have doubts about whether that's an effective technique.

My guess is that it could be, but depends on the products and focus on the item in the content of the blog (ie. I had this stuff called Starbucks yesterday, you should try it out, with the link below).  Even so, cj.com and linkshare.com do the same thing and they tell you have much you make when you close a deal or a lead.  Good luck though.  Like you said, you never know until you try.  [ but would be nice if you save your readers from trying if it doesn't work :) ]
