Building on a point that was brought up last night at my small group Bible study, I think it's interesting that the most important jobs are the lowest paying, and the least important jobs are the highest paying.  Consider garbage collectors.  They don't get paid too much at all; maybe $20,000-$25,000 per year, which works out to about $12 per hour.  But if people didn't come and collect our garbage, we'd have to take it somewhere ourselves.  And think about how disgusting it would be to load up your car with your own garbage.  Or how about fast food workers (I was one)?  They make minimum wage for the most part.  But imagine if there was no fast food.  Just think about it.  Yeah maybe you don't go every day or even once a week.  But I'm sure you go when you're traveling.  So where would you go to eat?  Places like Applebee's and TGI Friday's, with their overpriced hamburgers and chicken fingers?  And the flipside of the coin:  take a look at a CEO.  They make several million per year.  They're figureheads that make speeches and go to meetings.  Do you think the world could exist without them?  I think so.  And how about professional athletes?  The biggest whiners and complainers on earth.  I think it's hilarious that the NHL season was cancelled because people couldn't agree on salary issues.  These people play games for a living and get paid for it.  I used to play games in my backyard.  I didn't get paid for that.  Yet somehow I survived. #business
