Constant vs. average speed (5) Wednesday, Dec 14, 2011 4:10 pm

If I had to choose between driving at a constant speed of 40 mph or driving at a stop-and-go speed that averages 40 mph, I'd choose the former.  I often travel longer distances just so I don't have to drive on Route 206 in NJ.

I'm a big fan of anything that lets me drive on cruise control. You should move up here, there's very little stop and go traffic.

Yeah I treat cruise control like a game.  And unfortunately I think upstate New York is too far from the beach for Wendy.

You don't think the beaches along the Finger Lakes and the Great Lakes would count?

Dave Tuesday, Dec 20, 2011 9:18 am

I don't think so.  There needs to be salt water, sun, and waves.  Lakes don't count.

I can give you sun and waves but not the salt water. I was surprised by the waves the first time I was at Lake Ontario.
