The verdict is in on Chick-fil-A: It's not that good. I received a few recommendations from southerners, and I was further attracted by the fact that they sponsor a bowl game. But really, saying this place is special or any different from other fast food places is ridiculous. I'd say the only reason it's found such a warm spot in the heart of many displaced southerners is that Chick-fil-A's are only found in the south, so going to them reminds you of home. Other than that it's just a typical fast food place, but instead of beef, everything's made of chicken. Big deal. To be fair, I got a chicken wrap, and it wasn't too bad. But I could tell as soon as I walked into the place that it wasn't going to be what I expected. #food
Let me help here. There's a slight flaw. Chick-fil-A (That's so annoying to type), is a southern chain recommended by southerners. What the southerners fail to say, because it's assumed, is that it's got to be fried. I'm convinced Chick-fil-A (that's so annoying to type!!) only makes wraps and/or non-fried food for their northern friends. Next time, if it happens, try the fried chicken sandwich or the nuggets.
Also, I think it's raved about by southerners because there is such a large portion of southerners who are "social Christians" and Chick-fil-a (I hate typing that!!!) does not open on Sundays and they think that's cool.
All that to say I agree with you...it isn't that good. Now, if you want a chicken chain, next time you see a Zaxby's, (another southern chain which is way easier to type), go there. More expensive, but everything (grilled or fried; sandwich or salad) I've had there is goooooood!
