Wind-powered animals Thursday, Feb 2, 2006 6:20 pm

This site is kind of hard to explain.  It contains pictures and videos of a bunch of wind-powered animals that a guy named Theo Jansen created.  They're not real animals; they're pieces of plastic tubing linked together to form moving parts and joints.  And when they're placed in a windy area like the beach, they move on their own.  One of the creatures is called the Animaris Rhinoceros Transport, which is a giant 15-foot-tall, 2-ton creature that moves when pulled by a person or other moving object.  Really weird but amazing stuff.  (via Neatorama)
