Harold Camping's prediction (13) Tue, Mar 29, 2011
Harold Camping, a radio evangelist and preacher, has predicted that the Second Coming of Christ will happen on May 21, 2011.  That's fine and all, but I feel the need to hold people accountable when they make claims like this.  If he's right, the world will end, or all Christians will spontaneously disappear, or something tremendous and unmistakable like that will happen (if so, repent and believe!).  If he's wrong, we humans, as a collective group of intelligent, logical people, should all agree to never listen to him again.  It's that simple.  It's not like predicting the weather, where meteorologists say there's a 20% chance of rain or something.  The end of the word is a little more important than the daily weather.  As such, people who make predictions about the end times should be rated according to how right they are.  So far, everyone ever in the history of everything is ranked 0.  We'll see if that changes. #religion

We humans, as a collective group of intelligent, logical people have listened to him for almost 17 years since he last predicted this.  Considering the Son of Man did not know the day or time while he was here on earth, I have a funny feeling he won't be right this time either.

I also have a funny feeling he'll find a way to justify why he was wrong.

On a side note, that's Dave's birthday . . . he's either going to get the best birthday present ever, or he'll have to settle for whatever I get him.  Man, talk about gift buying pressure!!!

Oops . . . I meant my Dave . . . sorry to all your readers who know you as "Dave" and not "David!"

It would be an early Birthday present for Dave too....and a few others.  ;-)

Dave I just received an email from Harold Camping.  He's been wanting to comment on this, but he is struggling with the math question on your entry form.

Ha!  Well played.

I dont believe in harold's prediction. How he come to conclusion that world'll end on 21 may? Doing math doesn't prove anything. Prediction depends on god.

I'm a little perplexed by this still.  With his prediction, should I expect this to happen just before the date changes to 5/22 at the international dateline?  Or do we go with the Hebrew way of time keeping and say it is at sunset of 5/21 at the dateline?  Or perhaps it's sunset in Israel?

Any earlier would, by human standards, equate to the prediction being inaccurate somewhere in the world.

Hmm.  Hadn't thought of that.  If he's within one day, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

I just want to say I am hoping we at least get a little something! My sons father just happens to be getting married Saturday. And man I would be no good if just a little earthquake just happens, cause we are in Maryland, and we don't get them! I think I would really piss my pants. But nothing big cause I don't want nothing to happen with my son.

You're more gracious than me.  ;-)

This goes without saying, but obviously we can all stop listening to Harold Camping now.
