Square Root Day (2) Monday, Jun 22, 2009 12:17 pm

Similar to Odd Day is Square Root Day, where the month and day are the square roots of the year.  This happens nine times each century:  01/01/01, 02/02/04, 03/03/09, 04/04/16, 05/05/25, 06/06/36, 07/07/49, 08/08/64, and 09/09/81.  No, today isn't a Square Root Day, but today was the first I heard of it.  Being the nerd that I am, I had to post this.

Dave,
Please mark your calendar for May 8, 2013 and August 13, 2021.  Why?  Well clearly, these are the only two dates in this century where the date includes a consecutive sequence of Fibonacci numbers.  :-)

It only occurs 6 times in a given century with the the first one this century occurring on 01/01/02.  The other dates are
01/02/03
02/03/05
03/05/08.

I'm not saying I'm as much of a nerd as you, but if you take the "Fi" off of Fibonacci, you have my wife's maiden name so I guess that counts for something.

I AM saying you're as much of a nerd as me, if not more.  I stuck with odd numbers and square roots, and you took it all the way to Fibonacci sequences.  You win this nerd war.
