Power ballads (2) Thursday, Feb 9, 2006 10:44 am

I recently heard a song on the radio that really surprised me.  The music part of it was pretty heavy and I could tell it was a recent song.  But the vocals were so incredibly power-ballad-y that I was just blown away.  The band is called Default and the song is called "Count On Me".  Some of the beautiful lyrics are as follows:

Anytime you need someone
Somebody strong to lean on
Well you can count on me to hold you till that healing is done
And every time you fall apart
You can hide here in my arms
And you can count on me to hold you till that feeling is gone

I haven't heard anything this cheesy since Whitesnake and Meat Loaf.  This stuff is gold.

So I can count on you to hold me till that healing is done?  Because ya know, if you could just go ahead and do that for me, that'd be great.
